Basem Tarek

Basem builds payment products, with a focus on card acquiring, card issuing, and the settlement and reconciliation engines behind them. He began in billers operations at Fawry, then managed delivery projects at DXC Technology and Network International before leading digital payments and cards projects at OPay.

At geidea he grew from senior product owner to regional product manager. Since 2024 he has been Director of Products at Qi Card in Iraq, working on financial inclusion. He holds an MBA and a Professional Scrum Master certification, and brings an AI-first, ship-it-yourself approach to the LifeKit apps he builds.
